Ever wish you could skip the uphill and fast-forward directly to the downhill? Then give downhill mountain biking on Mt. Crested Butte a try!
We'll get you outfitted in a two-wheel or four-wheel downhill bike in our main center at the base area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, then load the bikes on the chairlift and let gravity take us down. Our instructors will guide you down the mountain and get you over any obstacles along the way. Choose to explore wide and easy trails, or head out on the single-track and learn to negotiate more challenging terrain like rock piles and log jams. We’ll focus on increased strength and self-confidence along with establishing good adaptive biking riding technique.
The Adaptive Sports Center recommends taking an introductory lesson in mountain biking as a pre-requisite.
Private lessons are for individuals with disabilities/special needs, or family members who want one-on-one instruction.
Group lessons are for individuals who do not need private or adaptive instruction and are of similar mountain bike ability.
Instructor to participant ratios are at the discretion of the ASC and vary by activity. Ratios are based on overall requirements of the participant(s) experience, complexities of necessary adaptations, overall activity risk management and logistics and the unique overall group management needs.
