The Twelfth Annual Bridges Of The Butte 24-Hour Bike Tour presented by Bank of the West loops through downtown Crested Butte, meandering across the town’s bridges. Sign up solo and brave the bike seat for all 24 hours, or put together a team of your friends and tour the town in shifts as day turns to night. Tune up your townie bicycle and find a fabulous costume, because this is one townie takeover you don’t want to miss. Three hundred riders participate in the annual tour held the last weekend of June. Proceeds from the event go to the Adaptive Sports Center.

Money raised during Bridges of the Butte provides scholarships for people with disabilities to come to the Adaptive Sports Center. Riders are encouraged to seek support of friends, family and coworkers. Supporters can pledge per lap (i.e. $2.00 per lap), per mile (the course is 2.5 miles) or a one-time ‘flat’ pledge for completing the event. All money raised goes directly into the Adaptive Sports Center’s scholarship fund.

Registration is limited to the first 300 participants. The event will sell out; early registration is highly encouraged.

Youth 17 and Under
The Adaptive Sports Center strives to make Bridges of the Butte a fun and family friendly event. All youth under age 18 are required to have a responsible adult (over 21) chaperone. After 9 p.m. youth are required to be accompanied both on course and at the base camp by the chaperone. After 9 p.m. unaccompanied youth will be asked to get their chaperone or go home for the evening.

Check-In & Bib Pick-Up
The base camp will be located in the parking lot and basketball court between the Center for the Arts and Crested Butte Town Park. Bibs can be picked up from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25. Please note there will be no parking in this lot. Please plan to park elsewhere.

Camping
Limited camping will be permitted in Crested Butte Town Park. You must register for a $10 tent space. Click here to register for a spot. Per town regulations, there will be no RV Camping allowed at Bridges of the Butte.

Camping Rules:
• Tent sites in marked areas only.
• Minors (under the age of 18) must be accompanied at all times by an adult who accepts all responsibility for the camping party.
• No alcohol or smoking is allowed in camping area.
• Please be respectful of your neighbors.
• No pets allowed in camping area.
• Quiet hours are between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.
• No campfires or open flames.
• Sites must be cleaned by 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.

General Rules and Regulations
The Bridges of the Butte 24-Hour Townie Tour does not exempt participants from existing laws, rules, and / or regulations. By registering, participants agree to conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner, obey all traffic stop signs, have some form of illumination after dark, not use speakers after dark and respect the rules and regulations of the town of Crested Butte.


All participants are required to register for the event through Adaptive Sports Center's Friendraising site. Online registration ends on Friday, June 24 at 5 p.m. If there are spots available (this event does sell out!), day-of-event registrations will be accepted at Town Park.

Volunteers are needed to help with everything from hanging posters prior to the event to on course marshals during the event. Volunteers are also needed to help clean up the base camp after the event. Your help is important and essential to running a great event. All volunteers are welcome to join us for the after party on Sunday, June 25 at noon on the patio in front of Lil's Sushi Bar and Grill and for the Summer Volunteer Party on August 18!

Volunteer Opportunities

“No Preference”
This is the miscellaneous option for those who have no time or job preference, and just want to help out! You will be contacted for small tasks, substitute, and other volunteer roles that are no more than two hours.

Course Set-up
Putting up all the directional signs, extension cords, etc. to mark the course.

Course Clean Up
Ride the course towards the end of the event and pick up trash, remove course signs, extension cords, etc.

Course Marshal--Volunteer for this position and earn an entry into the event! Must be 18 or older. 
Direct biker traffic (not car traffic) at intersections to help keep everyone safe. You will be given a stop/slow sign, a volunteer bib and a list of important numbers. The last shift on Sunday will ride/walk/drive the course to make sure all signs and assorted materials are taken down.

Base Camp/Registration Table
Help track the laps of solo riders at base camp, keep base camp looking clean and generally hold down the fort.

Base Camp Clean Up
Assist with break-down and trash pick-up.

After Party
Help set up and run the after party on the patio in front of Lil's Sushi Bar & Grill.
