Beverly has developed a method of transforming traditional Santa decorations into extraordinary works of art. Each handcrafted Santa is unique - there are no two alike. Beverly uses intricate details to personalize each Santa. From fabrics to paint colors to the type of sheep's wood used in the beard, each Santa has its own style. Many of the fabrics used on the Santa's are made from fabrics Cole has collected for many years. She uses natural elements and repurposed materials to add to the uniqueness of each creation. The lamb's wool, dirty and full of lanoline, is sheared from sheep and then shipped to her to wash and dry. She buys furs from thrift and vintage shops, and then cuts them into fur trim. Real pheasant pelts that have been dried and cured along with entire animal pelts and large pieces of leather and fur make the woodsy Santa an incredible work of art. Beverly has been featured in the Edmond Monthly magazine, the Daily Oklahoman and the Tulsa World newspaper as well as the TV show "Is This a Great State or What". Her Santa's have been sold in high end stores in Dallas, Wichita, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. She was commissioned by the State of Oklahoma to make the Official Centennial Santa in 2007. One of these Santa's is placed in the Oklahoma Governor's mansion as well as the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. Bring the past to your backyard. The Native Americans of the Plains lived in one of the most well known shelters, the tipi. The Plains cultures adapted this basic structure because many of these people were hunters, so their houses had to be mobile. The tipi was the ideal dwelling because it could hold up to the hot weather of the summer months, and the cool weather of the winter months. These shelters are also durable to strong winds, which blew across the Plains from the west. The skins covering the tipi were often painted in bright colors to show the personalities of the inhabitants. Bring home your tipi with a custom paint job by local artist, Leanne Canty, to reflect your own personality!
