The Denver Post Ride the Rockies - June 14 - 20 The ASC and The Denver Post Ride the Rockies have partnered to bring more handcyclists and riders with disabilities than ever before to this classic cycling event. Thousands of riders turn out each summer for the 6-7 day cycling tour, which includes daily rides ranging from 35 to 100 miles. The 2009 route consists of a 380-mile loop, featuring three breathtaking high-mountain Colorado passes and a scenic stretch along the North Rim of the Black Canyon. Cyclists will visit Glenwood Springs, Hotchkiss, Gunnison, Salida, Leadville and Aspen over the course of the tour. Community Kids Camp: Water! - June 22 - 24 Join us for the first of three installments of our popular summer adventure day camp for local and visiting school-age children with special needs. When it's sunny and warm out, there is no place better to be than in the water: paddling, splashing or floating in the middle of a beautiful mountain lake-you name it! Community Kids will kick off the summer in style with three days of water-based adventure in Gunnison County. $120

July Off-Road Cycling Clinic: Ft. Collins, Co. - July 10 - 11 Seasoned and newbie off-road cyclists alike are invited to join us for a fun and challenging off-road cycling clinic in Northern Colorado. Over the course of two days we'll explore the foothills of Ft. Collins-also known as "Fort Fun"-which offers a wide variety of off-road terrain. The clinic will be hosted by the ASC, U.S. Handcycling and The Paralyzed Veterans of America. Call for details. Community Kids Camp: Hiking and Horses! - July 6 - 8 Join us for the second of three installments of our popular summer adventure day camp for local and visiting school-age children with special needs. July is hands down the best time to enjoy the explosion of wildflowers in Crested Butte, and so Community Kids are going to do what the locals do: hit the trails and hike! The group will also enjoy a full day of horseback riding. $120

August High Adventure Weekend for Families with Children with Autism - August 6 - 9 This event was such a huge success last summer; we can't wait to do it all over again! Over the course of a long summer weekend, families will experience a number of outdoor adventures together, including paddling, a day spent on the Adaptive Sports Center's challenge course and a group camp-out at Blue Mesa Reservoir on the last night. Participants will form new friendships, learn about nutrition and wellness, and enjoy several "adult's night out" and "kid's night out" activities during their time in Crested Butte. Parents, children with autism and their siblings of all ages are welcome. $225/person includes: one day on the ASC's challenge course, one day of swimming/canoeing/kayaking, one overnight at Blue Mesa Reservoir, two dinners, two lunches, one breakfast, activity transportation, parent social evening with childcare and a guest speaker. Summer Cycling Sampler - August 15 - 17 Whether you are more of a thrill-seeking, adventurous type or nature lover who likes to stop and smell the flowers, there is surely a variation of adaptive cycling out there to suit your interests! Individuals with spinal cord injuries and similar types of abilities are invited to join us for three days of cycling in the Elk Mountains. Enjoy one day each of cross-country riding, downhill off-roading and classic road touring. This clinic is geared toward beginner and intermediate riders. $690/ person with lodging and airport shuttle (includes two nights in the Grand Lodge on Mt. Crested Butte and one night of backcountry luxury camping); $480/ person without lodging and airport shuttle. Both options include: three days cycling (on road, off road and downhill mountain biking) one night of backcountry camping, three lunches, one dinner, one breakfast and activity transportation. Community Kids Camp: Rocks and Ropes! - August 19 - 21 Join us for the final installment of our popular summer adventure day camp for local and visiting school-age children with special needs. Together we'll reach new heights-literally!-and find out the importance of teamwork by learning the basics of rock climbing and navigating ASC's challenge course on Mt. Crested Butte. $120. Ladies with Abilities: Summer Edition - August 22 - 24 Our winter version of this camp is such a hit, it made perfect sense to offer a summer edition as well. This long weekend features all of the elements necessary for a memorable "ladies only" getaway: a fine sampler of adventure activities, plenty of relaxation and social time, and hearty, healthy meals to boot. Experience the paradise that is late August in the Elk Mountains, and head home feeling renewed and re-energized. $740/ person w/ lodging and airport shuttle, $475/ person without lodging and airport shuttle. Includes: three days of activities-challenge course, horse program and Gunnison River float, three lunches, one dinner, a.m. wellness program, evening dance class, activity transportation.

Adaptive Off-Road Championships - September 5 - 7 Are you feeling at the top of your game? Come see what a summer of riding hard and strong has done for you and compete in this exciting event. The Adaptive Off-Road Championships will push you to your limits as you race head-to-head with other passionate adaptive off-road riders. The event will include a hill climb race, cross-country race, backcountry fun ride, trials and more; all races take place in Crested Butte. $20/race or $50 for all three; After August 1, $30/race and $75 for all three. Riders receive deep discounts on lodging in Crested Butte. Fall Photo Focus - September 11 - 13 Individuals with cognitive disabilities are invited to take part in this nature photography workshop held during prime "leaf-peeping" time in the Elk Mountains. The camp will cover all of the basic skills needed to take great photos: lighting, composition and subject. Photographers will find plenty of adventure along the way as they search for their perfect shot. A slide show presentation wraps things up on the final day, and will be sure to please. Families are encouraged to participate; all ages welcome. $615/person with lodging and airport shuttle; $385/ person without lodging and shuttle. Includes: three days of photography instruction/outdoor activities, three lunches, one dinner, activity transport, photo materials. Boulder Bike Clinic - September 12 Boulder, bikes and early fall; it is a combination that is hard to beat! The ASC and City of Boulder Parks and Recreation will host this one-day event, which will include plenty of superb downhill riding in the Boulder foothills. Caregiver Adventure and Resource Gathering - September 19 - 21 This three-day gathering provides caregivers with a much-needed reprieve from the tremendous work they do. Participants will learn about a myriad of adaptive sports activities, enjoy adventures with our professional guides, relax and rejuvenate, network with one another and gain valuable professional resources. The height of the fall colors in Crested Butte will provide a stunning backdrop for this event. Professional caregivers and parent/spouse caregivers are all invited. $625/person with lodging and airport shuttle; $415/person without lodging and airport shuttle. Includes: two days of activities-challenge course, a.m. hike, whitewater rafting, one dinner, two lunches, social evening, yoga/massage, activity transportation and guest speaker.
