Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Adaptive Sports Center! The application period for winter 2020-2021 volunteers has closed. If you are interested in future opportunities please read more about volunteering below or reach out to email@example.com for more information. The Adaptive Sports Center is always in need of reliable volunteers to assist either on the mountain or in the office. Considered an essential part of the Adaptive Sports Center team, we utilize volunteers year-round based on their availability and skill level. Is volunteering with the ASC this season a good fit for you? This year in particular, we are looking for volunteers who are mission focused and able to be flexible with a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The volunteer role may morph throughout the season to best fit our participants’ needs. We know client time is most valued, so this will continue to be the main focus of volunteering. General policies and updates to this year (many more to come!): The ASC is doing its best to keep up with the ever changing COVID-19 updates as well as follow state and county guidelines. There will be updated policies and procedures in place this year to help mitigate risks surrounding COVID-19. We feel it is very important to continue to provide programming for our participants during this challenging time, however, the wellness of our staff, volunteers, participants and greater community will have priority. There will be updated policies and procedures coming your way to review once we have finalized them. Expect these later in the month. Lesson times will be shifted this year with two staggered lesson times. Volunteer shifts will either from 8:30am-3:30pm or 9:30am to 4:30pm. Your schedule will mirror the A Lessons and B Lessons. Volunteers receive an hour lunch break between morning and afternoon sessions. Volunteers must be intermediate or advanced skiers or snowboarders. All volunteers must agree to a federal background check (every two years). Volunteers are required to attend trainings in November/December. The minimum age to volunteer with the ASC is 16. Winter Pass Volunteer: As a Winter Pass Volunteer you will team up with our instructors on the hill one day a week (+5 extra days during busy times) in exchange for a CBMR ski pass. You will demo ski drills, lift and load sit skis or act as a “ski buddy” for a family member or friend of a participant with a disability. Some participants travel from across the country to visit us, while others are full time local residents. Volunteers with a passion for the outdoors will assist people with disabilities and contribute to their amazing experience with the ASC. The application period for pass volunteers has closed for the winter of 2020-2021, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Non-Pass Volunteer: A non-pass volunteer will have the same responsibilities and experiences as a pass volunteer, but you can make your own schedule. Want to volunteer once a week? Great! Once a month? Perfect! Once a season? We can make it work.
