Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Adaptive Sports Center!

The Adaptive Sports Center is always in need of reliable volunteers to assist either in the field or office. Considered an essential part of the Adaptive Sports Center team, we utilize volunteers year-round based on their availability and skill level. We are accepting summer applications on a rolling basis.

Summer Program Volunteer

As a Summer Program Volunteer, you will team up with our Summer Instructors in activities that take place all over Gunnison County. You will support guides on lessons in mountain biking, canoeing, hand cycling, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and our ropes challenge course. Some participants travel from across the country to visit, while others are full time local residents. Volunteers with a passion for the outdoors will assist people with disabilities and contribute to their amazing experience with the ASC.

  • A typical volunteer day runs 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • We will match you on activities where you have experience
  • Volunteers provide their own lunch, and sometimes own transportation
  • All volunteers must agree to a federal background check (every two years)
  • Volunteers must attend an Orientation & Info Session and 1-2 technical skills sessions
  • The minimum age to volunteer with the ASC is 16

Ready to Volunteer? Please complete the following steps:

  • Online application will be available mid April.
  • Download and print our Federal Background Check* and volunteer waiver volunteer waiver. Please sign and email, snail mail or bring it with you to orientation.
  • Attend required orientation and info sessions (see dates below)

*Volunteers are subject to a Federal Background Check fee ($25) in the volunteer application
