Nordic Ski

Enjoy miles of backcountry terrain just outside of Crested Butte in a peaceful and therapeutic way.

Nordic skiing, or cross-country skiing, was developed as a way to traverse over heavy snow.

Crested Butte is home to miles of pristine trails on the edge of town, maintained by the Crested Butte Nordic Center, which collaborates with the Adaptive Sports Center to give participants access to these beautiful Nordic trails.

Take advantage of the Adaptive Sports Center’s Nordic sit-skis or snowshoes for full or half-day excursions with an instructor. Lessons focus on providing the skills necessary to independently increase strength and balance through Nordic skiing. For adventure-seekers, the Crested Butte Nordic Center also offers ski-in, ski-out yurt and hut trips for an evening stay in the backcountry.
