Where were you born and / or raised?
Salt Lake City, Utah

What's your favorite quote or something that you live by?
Humankind. Be both.

How long have you been skiing / snowboarding?
I learned to ski when I was 10. I went out without googles or eye protection (on a very sunny day) and burnt my eyes. Despite that, skiing was still the BEST thing I had ever experienced and have been pretty much obsessed with it since.

How did you come to work with the Adaptive Sports Center? How long have you lived in Crested Butte?
My husband, and our two Jack Russells, moved to Crested Butte in 2017. Within a month of living here we were at the Crested Butte Film Festival and saw You Can Do This, a short on an Adaptive Sports Center participant. It left such an impression on me that I volunteered that winter, which became the highlight of my week and a fantastic way to become involved in the community.

Why did you choose to work with people with disabilities?
I’ve worked in marketing and design for nearly two decades and have always wanted to do something that matters. I started a design agency that worked with nonprofits, which was rewarding, but I was still on the outside looking in. When a position in marketing opened at the Adaptive Sports Center, I knew this was it. I love skiing, but also know it’s about so much more than the sport. Skiing is where I found a sense of belonging, confidence, and exhilaration. Now I get to share that with others!

What's your favorite thing about working at the Adaptive Sports Center?
I love coming to work surrounded by fun people (co-workers, participants & volunteers) in a great environment. And that getting outdoors is part of my job description.

What do you do in your free time?
Besides getting outdoors and spending time with friends, I like dreaming of all the what ifs.

What's a fun fact about yourself?
I had a short appearance on the Today Show when I was filmed getting off the tram at Snowbird Ski Resort talking about how wonderful starting my day in the mountains was.
