Operation Rise and Conquer - Jose Santiago

CRESTED BUTTE, COLORADO - Adaptive Sports Center continues its partnership with American Supply Association (ASA) this fall with our Operation Rise and Conquer program, which helps provide high-quality adventure activities for military service personnel and first responders with disabilities.

Adaptive Sports Center instructors are highly trained to work with all types of disabilities, even the disabilities that you may not see on the outside. More than eight million Americans over the age of 18 have PTSD, with research showing that PTSD among military personnel may be caused by a physical brain injury that occurred during combat.

Here's another example of how your Operation Rise and Conquer contribution can make an impact with the groups that visit Adaptive Sports Center:

Jose Santiago joined the army in 1999 as a combat medic and was deployed to Iraq from 2003-2004 with the 3rd Army Cavalry Regiment. In 2010, after seeking help with a brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of his tour in Iraq, he found hope with Operation Rise and Conquer.
