Courage is being scared to death…and saddling up anyway – John Wayne How long have you been skiing / snowboarding? Snowboarded for 15 years, switched to skiing for about 10 years now. How did you come to work with the Adaptive Sports Center? How long have you lived in Crested Butte? My sister Megan (an awesome winter volunteer) told very important staff that I wanted to complete my final capstone project for my doctor of occupational therapy degree at ASC, and they agreed. I moved to Gunnison in January. Why did you choose to work with people with disabilities? The thrill of empowering and motivating individuals to participate in a variety of activities while finding unique solutions to help achieve their goals. What is your favorite thing about working at the Adaptive Sports Center? Getting to watch participants confidence grow when conquering new skills and the many laughs in between. What do you do in your free time? Ski, mountain bike, raft, snuggle all the dogs. What is a fun fact about yourself? I bungee jumped from the third highest in the world – Nevis Bungy in New Zealand, I’m also afraid of heights.
