What led you to join the ASC team?
Working wilderness therapy from ’21-‘23, I found a true calling – facilitating the development of others’ strong beliefs in oneself, sense of capabilities, and identity as a talented and resourceful human. Wilderness therapy demands a lot from everyone involved, so after almost 2 years as a field instructor, I was feeling the burn. With a grateful and heavy heart, I walked out of the southern Idaho desert for the last time, onto the next adventure. I knew I wanted to continue on the path, but I didn’t know where the path was leading. Fortunately, I found my way to Vail with a group of fellow Wilderness instructors for the winter of ’23-’24 and I was able to visit my sister in Crested Butte often. So naturally, the ASC became the next step in my journey. It took a lot to get here, but that’s all part of what makes it so special to be here.

What is your favorite part about working for the ASC?
Is it the people, love of sport, sense of belonging, camaraderie, or sense of accomplishment? Hmm… I suppose I truly can’t say I have a favorite part of working for the ASC. Together, the ASC and the mountain embody my deepest values and passions. I’m truly in my element – sliding downhill on cold water and sharing the love for my childhood sport with wonderful people.

What’s a fun fact about you?
In the summer of 2019, I planted over 75,000 trees by hand in British Columbia.
