Thank You For Making Bridges of the Butte a Huge Success!

"When we work together, we truly humble ourselves and listen to each other . . . What can’t be done? We know our limits; we know that. But yet, we push them.” -ASC Participant

Thank you for making our first ever Virtual Bridges of the Butte Townie Tour, presented by Bank of the West, a HUGE success! We not only met our fundraising goal--we far exceeded it!

All activities provided by the ASC are done at reduced cost and we strive to provide programming for ALL, regardless of financial situation. Last fiscal year we provided almost $500,000 in scholarships and subsidies. With your outpouring of support during Bridges of the Butte, we can continue to offer scholarships for our life changing activities to individuals and families in need of financial assistance. You are changing lives for so many participants.

“Words cannot express my gratitude for allowing me and my family to participate in this incredible ski program in Crested Butte … You are truly improving the quality of participants’ lives, lives such as mine … After sustaining a catastrophic spinal cord injury, I never imagined that I could possibly ski again … At the start of this amazing camp, I was asked by the organizers where was my family. They explained that my family was more than welcome to join me. Not just to join, but to participate. Finally I’ll be able to participate in a family ski trip! I have no way of ever repaying Adaptive Sports Center for helping me move forward. Keep up the amazing work. You all are changing people’s lives. Thank you.” -ASC Participant

As you are well aware, the COVID19 situation in the Gunnison Valley continues to evolve daily. The county has discussed guidelines concerning attendance limits for events this summer which suggests the largest allowable event size for August and September could be 250 people. The county has also cautioned events that the restrictions could be heightened without notice if the virus spikes again. In light of these uncertainties, we have decided to hold a virtual Bridges of the Butte.

While we are devastated that we cannot rally together and ride laps around (and around) town this year, we are hard at work to ensure that our virtual event will inspire community and fun through biking. As always, the event will strive to raise scholarship funds for people with disabilities to experience life-enhancing outdoor adventures with the Adaptive Sports Center! Our event committee has come up with some creative ideas that we are excited to start sharing with you soon.

Money raised during Bridges of the Butte Townie Tour Presented by Bank of the West provides scholarships for people with disabilities to come to the Adaptive Sports Center. Riders are encouraged to seek support of friends, family and co-workers.

Supporters can pledge per lap (i.e. $2.00 per lap), per mile (the course is 2.5 miles) or a one-time ‘flat’ pledge for completing the event. All money raised goes directly into the Adaptive Sports Center’s scholarship fund.

Wondering how you can raise money for the ASC?

  • By raising pledges!
  • When you register you will set up your own personal fundraising page which makes it easy for you to gather donations.
  • Use social media for good! Email your fundraising page (and post it to your Facebook) to your friends, family and coworkers explaining why you believe in the mission of the Adaptive Sports Center and enlist their support.

PLEDGE A RIDER-Closed for this year.
